Embark on a six-week journey to develop a strong sewing foundation and unleash your creativity. This comprehensive course covers everything from mastering machine basics and essential stitches to perfecting seams, hems, and professional finishing touches. By the end of the course, you'll confidently sew a perfectly fitted dress, bringing together all the skills you've learned. With hands-on guidance and expert support, this class is designed to help you create with confidence and precision. Fabric costs are not included, but we’ll guide you through the selection process to ensure your project shines. Week 1: Mastering Machine Basics Learn how to set up your machine, practice essential stitches, troubleshoot common issues, and get to know your sewing tools & machine accessories. Week 2: Seam & Hem Mastery Master various seam types, hemming techniques, edge finishes, and add professional touches with topstitching and decorative stitches. Week 3: Fastenings & Fabric Fundamentals Get comfortable with buttonholes, zippers, fabric types, cutting techniques, and fabric preparation to ensure precision in your projects. Week 4: Patterns & Project Planning Learn to read and cut patterns with precision, make fitting adjustments, and plan your sewing projects with confidence. Week 5: Apply Your Skills Put your skills to the test by selecting and preparing a commercial pattern for a dress, cutting your final fabric to bring your vision to life. Week 6: Sew the Perfect Dress Bring it all together to sew a perfectly fitted dress with professional finishes and a polished look.
